Military-based Naturalization

admin • November 5, 2012

The Army recently released a new recruiting program aimed at enlisting soldiers with certain critical language skills and also seeking certain licensed
Health Care Professionals. In return for a five year commitment to the military, applicants who graduate from ten weeks of military training will be eligible for expedited naturalization. Soldiers who enlist in this program are able to move from non-immigrant visa or asylee/refugee/TPS/ or Deferred Action status directly to citizenship, bypassing the lengthy Green Card process.

Criteria include being legally present in the US for 2 years without an extended absence of over 90 days, a high school diploma, plus qualifying scores on the Armed Forces Qualification Test and proficiency test in the native language.

A list of qualifying languages and health care professions is available on request from our office.
