Trusted Legal Representation and Immigration Services

Immigration Services

In order to establish legal residence in the United States, individuals and families must work through a complicated network of visas and government regulations. In almost all cases, an immigration attorney is a necessary component of this process, helping immigrants secure the paperwork and representation that is necessary throughout the process.

At The Law Offices of Malvern C. Burnett, APLC, our team has decades of experience working with organizations, businesses, and families from around the world, helping them achieve a favorable immigration status. Our team of attorneys and paralegals can represent you from day one, helping you lay the groundwork for your future in a new place.

Immigration law refers to a wide range of legal services and our team offers effective and affordable representation in the following areas:

Family Petitions

Close family members from other countries can be sponsored by US Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents. These family petitions may be granted in the case of marriage to a US Citizen, for children born outside the United States, and in some cases of other family relations. Find out which paperwork and forms you need to submit.

Working in the United States – temporary non-immigrant work visas

If you plan on working in the United States, you need to obtain the appropriate visa prior to your period of stay. There are different visa requirements for specialty occupations, agriculture, and other temporary professions. Make sure you have a team of trained professionals to help you secure an H-1B, H-2A, H-2B, L, O, P, R or other temporary visa.

Working in the United States – employment-based permanent residence

Some foreign workers may qualify for permanent residence based on their employment history or occupation. These employment-based residence programs are classified as EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-4, or EB-5. These visas are often granted to religious workers or other skilled professionals.

Citizenship and Naturalization

Are you or a family member eligible to become a US Citizen? A legal permanent resident may qualify for naturalization if they meet certain criteria. Children born to US Citizens outside the country may also qualify for citizenship at birth. Find out if you may be eligible.

Asylum

Individuals and families from other nations may seek asylum in the US after persecution in their home country. Based on an individual’s specific background, he or she may apply for asylum through Form I-589 and other family members can also seek asylum through a Form I-730. These visas may later be used when filing for permanent residence.

Deportation

In the unfortunate case that a family member faces deportation or removal from the United States, it is essential to have a dedicated team working on your behalf. Our team of professionals is ready to assist in requesting bond before the Department of Homeland Security and representation in bond reduction hearings before the Immigration Court. We also assist in deportation defense including the filing of asylum, cancellation of removal or adjustment of status before the Immigration Court.
