Consulate General of Colombia Uses Our Offices for Voting & Consular Services

This past Saturday, March 22, 2014, the Consulate General of Colombia permanently located in Houston, Texas established a temporary consular office at the Law Offices of Malvern Burnett in New Orleans for the purposes of taking passport applications, issuing passports and national identification cards, visa issuance, and accepting ballots for the Colombian presidential elections from Colombian nations living in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas.

The Honorable Consul Miguel Rafael Lopez Mendez presided over the consular affairs of his office staff.

This was the second time in March 2014 that the Colombian Consulate established a temporary consular office in our facilities to allow Colombian residents residing in the surrounding states to cast ballots in congressional and presidential elections and utilize the consular services.
